I went to the post office and a young soldier’s wife was trying to mail a package to him in Iraq. God spoke to me and said, “bless her.” So as she struggled for change to pay for the package, I asked her if I could give her a twenty to help ship her package. I told her that we at First Baptist were doing “Big Bless,” and I would like to help her. It was a great blessing to know that I had helped one of our soldier’s families. I can’t wait until the next time.

Attended a different church Sunday while out of town. Small church and after the service a meal is served. I enquired of the Pastor’s wife how a church so small could afford to feed these people every Sunday. Her response was “I get good sales”. I gave her 5 twenty dollar bills. Thanked her for all she does.

A coworker has a child that has Celiac disease which interferes with absorption of foods. There is a camp called Twin Lakes that sponsors an annual camp called “WEEKANEATIT”. This coworker was going to attempt to sponsor 2 families at this camp for the cost of $700.00 by getting donations for running a half marathon of 12 miles. I sent him a check for half of his goal.

I have a coworker that is a single mom of 2 that has to watch every penny with a budget that has no wiggle room. It takes weeks to save up to splurge for them to eat out… …at McDonalds. She is a very strong mother/person. She never gets to do something for herself or gets anything just for her. I feel that our family takes our income/money for granted and feel we should be a little more like her and we could help more people in her position. Anyhow, God laid it on my heart to make this friend my Big Bless. I went to her yesterday with $20 and told her about the Big Bless we were doing and that I would like to give her this money to do something for herself or to take her children out for a dinner that won’t strain the budget. What a great feeling. Can’t wait till my next opportunity!

I had an opportunity the other day to share a blessing… This blessing did not have an out of pocket expense for me but I feel I blessed this person just the same. A friend’s car broke down last week at her work. The tie rod end broke either just as she parked the car at work or just as she was pulling out at the end of her shift (Thank You Jesus). I fixed the car and she was begging me to take some money for the repair. I told her that I would not take anything for my time just because she was a friend and especially since our pastor had asked everyone to participate in the Big Bless. I was able to share with her what we were doing and give her a card. She said that it was a neat idea and that she would pass the blessing on. I am still praying and on the lookout for someone to bless with my money. God gives us the opportunity to share if we will just take advantage of it.

At Walmart in Radcliff Girl Scouts were selling cookies at the entrance. I bought 4 packages of cookies and told the girls to give them to soldiers as they came into Walmart. I left a BIG BLESS card with each box of cookies. The Girl Scouts were very excited to do this and asked a lady working with them if they could do this at their church.

My family had an opportunity to bless a family tonight… We were eating at Miguels (yes, we were there again
) and a military family came it to eat. I asked Carlos to bring me their bill once they had ordered. Before we left, I went to the family and said that we had picked up their meal for the night to be a blessing to them for being a blessing to us by serving our country. I left them a Big Bless card and asked them to visit our website and if they would like, post a comment on the blessings received page.
The men and women that serve our country in the military sacrifice so much that I was thrilled to be able to bless them with a meal.
Thank You to all that serve in the military.

I was able to buy dinner for a couple of college students who were home for a visit. It was neat to talk with them and see how they were doing. I also believe it will help them have a positive view of christians in our community. I pray that God will use this to help bring them to Him.
